Seconds: 2
Thirds: 0
Earnings: $1,216,000

Derby Points: 24

Analysis:
Absolutely adore the way he finished in the Breeders Cup over a surface that he was unfamiliar with. He showed a lot of professionalism that day that was not expected for horse who had never won a race before. He's been working forwardly since the Juvenile and looks like he's really filled out is coming into the Fountain Of Youth firing on all cylinders.

2. Audible
Into Mischief- Blue Devil Bel by Gilded Time
Jockey: Javier Castellano
Trainer: Todd Pletcher
Owner: WinStar Farm LLC, China Horse Club International LTD. & SF Racing LLC

Career Stats:
Starts: 4
Wins: 3
Seconds: 0
Thirds: 1
Earnings: $287,720

Derby Points: 10

Analysis:
The way he finished in the Holy Bull had me super impressed. He looks like a horse that's screaming for longer distances many knock his pedigree as not hinting at wanting distance but horses bred on the same cross have an average winning distance of 7.45 furlongs which is right on par with a lot of the top contenders. I can ignore pedigree if visually he looks like he wants to go longer and he definitely passes the eye test. I normally don't like Pletcher's horses this early but this is one that was to good to ignore.

3. Bolt D' Oro
Medaglia D'Oro- Globe Trot by AP Indy
Jockey: Javier Castellano
Trainer: Mick Ruis
Owner: Ruis Racing LLC

Career Stats:
Starts: 4
Wins: 3
Seconds: 0
Thirds: 1
Earnings: $576,000

Derby Points: 14

Analysis:
This is definitely a horse that was made for two turns, my only worry is that he's missed training time due to a pulled muscle and setbacks this early are never a good sign. He is back working regularly pointing for a return in the San Felipe Stakes. His first couple works back were not visually stimulating but his last couple works have been a major improvement. He doesn't need to win his return, but he does need to show that he is at least close to his old self.

4. Vino Rosso
Curlin- Mythical Bride by Street Cry
Jockey: John Velazquez
Trainer: Todd Pletcher
Owner: Repole Stable & St. Elias Stable

Career Stats:
Starts: 3
Wins: 2
Seconds: 0
Thirds:1
Earnings: $68,000

Derby Points: 2

Analysis:
His Inexperience hurt him in the Sam F. Davis, but the light bulb seemed to turn on past the wire because he galloped out like a steam engine as he rolled past both Flameaway and Catholic Boy. He seemed to run in spots in the Sam Davis so I'm thinking he'll be a candidate for blinkers next out. He'll keep improving as the distances get longer and as he gets more experience which makes him very dangerous moving forward.

5. McKinzie
Street Sense- Runway Model by Petionville
Jockey: Mike Smith
Trainer: Bob Baffert
Owner: Karl Watson, Mike Pegram, & Paul Weitman

Career Stats:
Starts: 3
Wins: 3
Seconds: 0
Thirds: 0
Earnings: $270,000

Derby Points: 20

Analysis:
Hard to knock an undefeated horse especially one trained by Bob Baffert, but that being said this horse is a little quirky when he gets into the stretch. He needs to figure out how to stay in a straight line before I move him up any higher. I do actually wonder about this one's ability to go long as horses bred on the same cross have an average winning distance of 6.82 Furlongs. He does seem to be able to finish off his races well so maybe there isn't enough cause for concern.

6. Mendelssohn
Scat Daddy- Leslie's Lady by Tricky Creek
Jockey: Ryan Moore
Trainer: Aidan O' Brien
Owner: Michael Tabor, Mrs. John Magnier & Derrick Smith

Career Stats:
Starts: 5
Wins: 2
Seconds: 1
Thirds: 0
Earnings: $706,652

Derby Points: 0

Analysis:
I was hoping this colt would have run the Juvenile Dirt race but instead Aidan decided to run him in the turf race which paid off as he won very impressively. He's a half to Beholder and we all know how special she was on dirt. Looks like he'll probably point to the UAE Derby which may actually be a tough spot for him as Gold Town looks like an absolute freak. I have no doubts he'll handle the distance and I also have no doubt he'll handle the dirt just a matter of time till we find out how good he really is.

Knocking on the door

Marconi- Royally bred but worry he's not fast enough to keep up with these. He is one I wouldn't leave off any Belmont tickets but the Derby might be a big ask for this colt.

Mourinho- Worry he won't be able to get the distance but if he runs a big race in the Southwest don't be surprised if I move him up.

Flameaway- Very game and tenacious racehorse hasn't lost this year and could be very tough moving forward.

Ode To The Place That Made Me

Some people say that your home should tell the story of who you are and be a collection of what you love and hold most dear, well to me my home has always been at Canterbury Park. I yearned for those summers every single day of my young life I literally had a countdown started on my phone from the moment the meet closed for the winter. It was the one thing that kept me going through those long tough winters in school, It helped me discover so many things about myself and taught me so many life lessons. It was the place that really shaped who I became. My first experience at Canterbury Park actually happened before I could walk or even form memories, My Mom and Dad knew someone who worked at Canterbury and through that connection, we were able to get a photo in the winners circle. I was just a young child in the photo and I didn't even look at the camera, but it was just the beginning of my long future with Canterbury Park. Fittingly the horse that won the race we got the photo for ...

Triple Crown Reactions

I got into horse racing way back in 2004 thanks to a plucky little chestnut horse named Smarty Jones who swept through the Kentucky Derby and Preakness with devastating ease I thought for sure even with my limited horse racing knowledge at that time that he would be racings 12th Triple Crown winner. My hopes were dashed as another plucky little colt named Birdstone swept on by him and dashed all my hopes in that final heartbreaking furlong.  The Triple Crown is part of what fueled my love for this sport at such a young age, and after Smarty Jones I spent most of my life thinking I would never have the privilege to witness a Triple Crown winner. So when American Pharoah came along I relished every hoofbeat, every race-call, and every heart stopping moment along the trail. I probably have watched his Belmont over a hundred times, and I could probably recite it word for word by now. I remember exactly where I was when he crossed that wire first I was hot walking a horse named Castlede...

The Beverly D was also her first start on US soil and showed she definitely likes firm going and she will get firm going at Santa Anita which will definitely enhance her chances.  Laughing(IRE): four starts and four wins this year for Laughing, she has racked up a very impressive roster of wins. She took down the grade three Eatont...
