What a Triple Crown Would Mean To Me.

When asked the question "What would a Triple Crown mean to you?" I instantly realized that there really are no words for how much one would mean to me, after following and loving this amazing sport of horse racing since 2004 I have grown accustomed to heartbreak along the Triple Crown, and have never really stopped and thought what I would do if it actually happened. I have jokingly said I'll get a tattoo which I probably will not, but again who knows. One thing I do know for sure is this is horse racing, and there is nothing you will ever know for sure, it's one of the reasons why I love this sport as much as I do. One moment you'll be riding high on the coat-tails of a dominating Derby Preakness winner and the next watching them struggle home in the Belmont. Every year people hype up the Derby winner saying this will be the year, and every year now since 1978 it's been the same old song and dance no Triple Crown.

American Pharoah just might be the best chance we have had in a long while. He seems to just keep getting better he looked like a champion in the Preakness and photos of him since the Preakness look even better. He's holding his weight and appears to be training like a monster. The only worry is will his pedigree stop him. He's not bred for the grueling mile and a half Belmont, but then again no horse nowadays is unless they were born in Europe. That being said if American Pharoah gets the fractions he needs I don't see anyone beating him at Belmont, but he's going to have his work cut out for him with Frosted, Mubtaahij, and yes I still have major faith in Keen Ice.

Back on the topic of what would a Triple Crown mean to me. I grew up with my heroes being Smarty Jones, Curlin, and many more. I never looked up to anyone else more than the horses, they taught me lots of valuable life lessons, and handicapping lessons as well. Smarty Jones taught me you can never discredit pedigree or an underdog story. Curlin taught me that no matter how great a racehorse is the Apollo Curse will probably live on for eternity. Afleet Alex taught me to never give up no matter how much others want you to fail. Those were just some of the many life lessons, and handicapping lessons I have learned from these amazing athletes none of them were Triple Crown champions, but that didn't matter to me they all taught me valuable lessons, and gave me some of the best thrills of my life. A Triple Crown would be a whole different thrill altogether and one I hope to experience before I die.

A Triple Crown is something I would love to see, but I wont get my hopes up I've had my heart broken one too many times on that long Belmont stretch. I can dream though of the day that it will finally happen and when it does it will mean the whole world to me, and to a sport that needs a Triple Crown win badly. The Triple Crown would mean that all of the heartbreak and all the time I have spent loving and appreciating this sport, is and, was worth all the hours, and money spent indulging my first and only love horse racing.
